include prototypes, pre-production Leopard, Leopard production version, Leopard
1 described, experimental and development vehicles, Leopard 1 in the Bundeswehr
and modeling the Leopard.
Volume 2 (Special Purpose Variants) has 220 pages and
covers Bergepanzer 2, Pionierpanzer 1, Pioneierpanzer 2 Dachs, Gepard, Biber,
Leguan and other bridgelayers, Fahrschulpanzer, BeobachtunsPanzerArtillerie
Leopard, Leopard 1 AEV, Leopard 1 AMCV, Hippo, Leopard 1 BARV, demining

Volume 3 (Foreign Usage) has 196
pages covers Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Denmark, Greece, Italy,
the Netherlands, Norway, Turkey and other users. Without a doubt the best
reference available for the Leopard 1. The books contain superb photos with a
wealth of detail shots including many, many interior shots. Also included are
numerous 1/35 scale line drawings which are just terrific. Particularly good is
the coverage of Canadian Leopards and it is right up to date with photos and
line drawings of the C1 and C2 variants with MEXAS up-armoring packages. A very
nice touch are the numerous personal anecdotes spread through the volumes from
former crew members. Very, very highly recommended.

Sherman Firefly

the most comprehensive reference to date on the Sherman Firefly. Includes
detailed discussion of the development and production of the vehicle together
with its combat use in Italy and Northwest Europe. Very nice commentary on the
effectiveness of the 17pdr main armament and its ammunition and as an added
bonus the author has included a good discussion of the available model kits and
accessories for the tank. Highly recommended.
