Dear Friends:
I know, we said there would not be any other e-mails until 3 weeks from now.
However, there is one matter that needs to addressed ASAP. We have been informed
that
TECHNICAL AND OPERATIONAL HISTORY; TIGER, VOLUME 1 has just gone
to the printer. We should have our copies (at last!!) by the end of April.
Obviously, there have been delays, but when you see it you will realize that the
extra work has been worth it. There have been some changes and let us address
them now. CONTENT - The book has grown by 8
pages and lots of additional photographs (follow the link to the complete
description of volume 1). Additionally, originally there was going to be one 40
page map book for both volumes. Now, there will be 2 map books, one for each
volume. AND, there will be additional large map pages (some in 3D), not part of
map book, that will fold out to an impressive size. All these maps will be in
beautiful full color, with a lot of detail. Mr. Trojca has spent well over two
hundred hours in putting together these maps. The many mistakes occurring in
almost all current literature have been corrected, based on very detailed period
Polish and Russian maps. Movements of all units have been documented for every
unit, in some cases even individual Tigers are shown. The areas around
Leningrad, Kharkov and
Kursk, and in Tunisia,
Sicily and other battles
in 1942 and 1943 are
all shown. In the future, these will be referenced by all writers dealing with
actions of the Tiger battalions. Skeptical? Well,
click on the link and see for yourself. We show just a fragment of one
of the 3D maps. The numbers in red on the map correspond to actions referred to
in the text, so you can follow the movements of the units. How do you like that?
PRICE As you can imagine, all that extra
work and material does not come for free. As we said earlier, the prices we
quoted were our best estimate. Unfortunately, they have to go up a bit to offset
the higher costs. As a result, the new prices are:
$120.00 US/ 130.00 CDN. To soften the blow, as promised, those that
have already ordered will be charged the old price, and, for those that order
before March 15th, the old price will also apply. After that, the new price will
be charged, no exceptions. If you are still undecided in March, we will add some
more samples from the book before March 15th. SPECIAL
EDITION There will be a limited number of copies, approx. 100, that
will be produced for the book lovers. It will be bound in an imitation-leather
material, and each copy will be personally signed by the author. Those will sell
for approximately $25.00 US/CDN more than
the regular edition. To secure those copies we will have to place our order
within a week. Therefore, if you definitely want such a copy, please let us know
ASAP by e-mail, fax or phone so that we can put you on the list.
Work is proceeding well on three projects, 88 Panzerjäger Abteilung
should be off to typesetting in a week and editing on Totenkopf Tigers is coming
along nicely. In a few days, editing will start on the third book, that we will
announce in March. Well, this is all for now, will send next update in 3 weeks.
Have a nice week, John and
Sharron

Dear Friends:
Well, it has been 2 weeks since the last update and it is still pretty quiet out
there. However, we have managed to add 5 Luftwaffe soft covers that should spice
up your life. New from Kagero: Top Colors Series
Operation Bodenplatte and
Fw
190 at War; Monograph Series
Junkers Ju 87 Vol. IV; and Top Drawings Series the
Junkers Ju 88 A and
Junkers Ju 87 D/G Variants.

Taking advantage of the spare time, we have been working on future
titles and will have more announcements soon. However, for now we have added
some extra color goodies that will be in the upcoming
Tiger I book from Mr.
Trojca. The mechanics out there will appreciate the samples of some of the
interior hardware, and the map aficionados will salivate when they
see some of the excellent maps (these are still being polished), some in 3D,
that will be included. Click on the
link and check them out. I have seen some of the
other material being prepared for the future volumes and it will definitely
raise the bar for publishers of quality military history books. We plan to use
some of these new goodies in JJ Fedorowicz books. When will they be available
you ask? Soon, real soon. But for now, back to the computer to get the future
projects moving along. As there are a few major events happening here, there
will not be an update until March 11th. However, business as usual, so here is
your chance to order the Luftwaffe books and some of the older titles, and catch up on books you still
must have.
Have a nice weekend, John and
Sharron
January 28, 2010
Dear Friends:
This week we are offering from Schiffer Publishing the upcoming 3-volume set on the
Uniforms and Insignia of the Großdeutschland Division.
This promises to be quite a bonanza for the uniform collectors and those
interested in the GD Division and Panzerkorps. Hope you can afford the prices!
These should be in in 2 - 3 weeks. Please let us know as soon as possible if you
want this set. Due to the price, we will not be stocking them, but will only
order as many as we receive orders for.
OUR BOOKS
-
Work is continuing on three titles and translation has just begun on
another. The PZ JG 88 book is almost ready for the typesetter, and then
it is off to the printer. Hopefully, we will have the pre-pub offer in early
March. The other book will be announced in another 2-3 weeks. We hope to have
that ready in April. All for now.
Have a nice weekend, John and
Sharron
January 21
Dear Friends:
A bit of a mix this week.

Sturmgeschutz III Vol. 2 has just arrived. It looks quite interesting
and completes the 2 volume set.
We are also announcing the next book from Waldemar
Trojca -
BB Kongo Class & CV Unryu Class which should be arriving within 2
months. You can place your order for it now and we will not charge you for it
until we ship it.
NEW FROM
US: Just want to let you know that our next available title will be a
memoir from a German soldier who fought exclusively on the Eastern Front until
the end of the war. His experiences include some of the most interesting
small-unit actions that are around. He started the campaign against the Soviet Union
in 1941 as a member of the motorcycle battalion in the 13th Panzer Division,
then was transferred to the 88 Panzerjäger Abteilung and served in a
Marder and Hornisse. He fought at the Mius, in Eastern Poland and in 1945
participated in battles in the Carpathian foothills of Silesia. His unit retreated from there to south of Berlin
where it surrendered. Always in demand, the
tank destroyers faced incredible odds while trying to stabilize the front and
support the hard-pressed infantry. There are some photographs, and we hope to
include some color maps and vehicle profiles. The book will be in the 6"x 9" (small)
format. We hope to have the price set within 4 weeks and to have it printed by
the end of March. No title yet, this is just a heads-up to our friends, so do
not order it yet. We will have a pre-pub for it when it is ready for the
printer.
Hitler's War on
Russia is now in stock as is the re-print of
Endkampf
so if you haven't ordered
yours yet do not delay as they are going very fast.
Have nice weekend, John and
Sharron
January 8: Dear Friends:
Hope everyone is starting the New Year happily. We are getting back into the
swing of things here with many plans and hopes. Just one new book to offer this
week:
Germany's Combat Helmets from R.J. Bender
Work in progress:
The volume on Totenkopf Tigers is
progressing well; we will have more information on it in about two weeks.
Additionally, in about 2 weeks we will also announce another new book, a very
nice personal memoir. Two other projects
have been just started and they will be announced in 2 or 3 months. All we have
to hope for is that the world economy improves and these projects can be
completed reasonably quickly.
Odds and Ends For those
of you that have asked about some of the older Militaria
Titles (the soft covers from Poland), we will try to list next week the
ones we still have in stock. They seem to disappear quickly now, so grab them
when you can. Well, that is all for now. We hope to hear from you soon. John and
Sharron
